DPF and EGR Remapping

DPF, EGR and AdBlue deletes are for off-road, competition, agricultural and export vehicles. Removing or disabling emissions equipment on a vehicle used on UK public roads breaks the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986, the DPF is checked at the MOT, and any modification must be declared to your insurer. The decision is the owner's. If the filter can be saved, a DPF clean from £195 keeps the vehicle road legal.

What The DPF and The EGR Do
The DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter)
A filter in the exhaust of a diesel that captures and stores soot to cut emissions, then burns it off in a regeneration. It can block when regeneration fails, which leads to engine problems and limp mode, it is expensive to replace, and it struggles on vehicles used for short trips or in cold weather.
The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation)
A valve that feeds part of the exhaust gas back into the intake to lower combustion temperature and cut NOx. Over time it leads to carbon build-up in the intake manifold, reduced efficiency and power, and rough idling.

What Do DPF and EGR Remapping Change?
DPF remapping modifies the engine computer to stop the regeneration cycles and remove the related fault codes. It is typically done after the filter has been physically removed or emptied: a DPF delete and remap, or DPF removal and remap.
EGR remapping disables the valve in the engine computer, so exhaust gas is no longer recirculated and the engine runs on fresh air only.
For off-road vehicles, owners choose it for:

What Is DPF Remapping?

Do I Need A DPF Delete, An EGR Delete Or Both?

Yes. Both are software changes to the same engine computer, so when an owner wants both they are done together, at your location.
Is The Remap The Same As Taking The Filter Off?
No. The remap is the software part: it stops the engine computer running the system and clears the codes. Whether anything is physically removed is a separate question we talk through for your vehicle before booking.
How Much Is A DPF and EGR Delete Together?
From £255 for both in one visit (DPF delete on its own from £185, EGR delete from £195). The exact price depends on the vehicle, and you get it before anything is booked.
