Emissions systems: EGR

EGR Delete Remap, At Your Location

EGR fault codes, rough idling or a loss of power? An EGR delete remap stops the engine computer using the exhaust gas recirculation valve and clears the EGR faults, so the engine runs on fresh air only. We do it at your location across Liverpool, Manchester and the North West, for off-road use.

  • Software Only

done with the vehicle where it is parked

  • Licensed Tuning Software

top of the range, used on every remap

  • From £195

    EGR delete remap, off-road use

Please Read First

DPF, EGR and AdBlue deletes are for off-road, competition, agricultural and export vehicles. Removing or disabling emissions equipment on a vehicle used on UK public roads breaks the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986, and any modification must be declared to your insurer. The decision is the owner's.

What the EGR does

Exhaust Gas Recirculation, and Why It Fails

The EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) system feeds a portion of the exhaust gas back into the engine's intake. That lowers the combustion temperature and cuts nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions.

The price of it is soot. Over time the valve and the intake coke up with carbon, the valve sticks, the engine loses efficiency and power, and it starts to idle roughly. On many diesels that is when the fault codes and the warning light arrive.

Signs of an EGR problem

  • Engine management light with EGR fault codes
  • Rough idling
  • Loss of power and efficiency
  • Carbon build-up in the intake manifold

What Does An EGR Delete Remap Do?

An EGR delete remap rewrites the engine computer so that it:

  • no longer opens the EGR valve, so no exhaust gas goes back into the intake
  • no longer monitors the EGR system
  • clears the EGR fault codes and the warning light

With the valve out of use, the engine breathes fresh air only. Owners of off-road vehicles choose it for fewer EGR failures, less carbon in the intake and better performance. The remap is done with top of the range licensed tuning software.

Want the DPF done at the same time? That is covered on DPF and EGR remapping.

What Are The Signs Of A Failing EGR Valve?

EGR fault codes and the engine management light, rough idling, a loss of power and efficiency, and carbon build-up in the intake manifold.

What Does An EGR Delete Remap Change?

The engine computer's software: it stops opening the EGR valve, so no exhaust gas is fed back into the intake and the engine runs on fresh air only, and it clears the EGR fault codes.

Will The Engine Light Go Out After An EGR Delete?

The remap clears the EGR fault codes, so the warning those codes caused goes out. A light caused by a different fault stays until that fault is dealt with.

Is An EGR Delete Legal?

Only for off-road, competition, agricultural and export vehicles, as set out in the note at the top of this page.

Do I Have To Delete The DPF As Well?

No. They are separate systems and the EGR can be mapped out on its own. If both are giving trouble, both can be done in the same visit.

How Much Is An EGR Delete?

From £195, or from £255 with the DPF delete in the same visit. The exact price depends on the vehicle: send the registration and you get it before anything is booked.

EGR Fault On The Dashboard?

Send the registration and the fault. You get the price before anything is booked.
